Matt Hammersley

Outdoor pursuits instructor and keen outdoor enthusiast Matt Hammersley set up a range of guided outdoor adventure activities in 1991.

We have been instructing outdoor adventure activities since 1990 and we continue to offer qualified, experienced and professional instruction to local outdoor centres, management training centres, schools and individuals.

We are ideally situated to be able to offer activities within the local area, as well as further away. We have a fantastic area of natural beauty on our doorstep, with some of the best locations to kayak, canoe, climb and walk in the south-west. The majority of our activities take place in and around Symonds Yat, in the picturesque Wye Valley, and in the Forest of Dean.

We provide adventurous activities to all ages and abilities, to individuals, groups, businesses and families. Whether it's a days climbing for yourself and friends, or a taster session kayaking for a youth group, Matt Hammersley can accomodate all your needs.

We use top quality equipment designed for instructional use, and only qualified and experienced instructors.

We offer tailor made sessions from a half day taster to a four day mini expedition. It's all designed to give you an experience you will remember.

07.11.04. STOP PRESS...FIRST SLED DOG RALLY RESULT OF THE SEASON!

As you know we are keen sled dog racing fans here at L2C and even run our own team...tanglefoot sled dog racing team..

today was our first race of the season with the ABSA race org.

a muddy wyre forest near kidderminster was the scene for our first rally of 2004/2005 season. over 50 teams from a variety of breeds, from all over the UK entered the rally.

we were entered in the DO class for 3 dogs where at least one is a cross breed or non sled dog breed. the trail was 2.8 miles and included the notorious 'pipe line' and long very steep hill near the last 1/3 rd of the course.

i ran kirra in lead, lolly in wheel with wolfe.

our time of 13mins 55 secs put us into first place..7 minutes ahead of 2nd place! so a great result to the start of the season.

keep you eyes pealed for more results and on the our adventures section for some photos from the race very soon!

13.05.04. WEEKLY MOTO!

'feel the fear and do it anyway!!!'

its often more scary to think about what you are about to do than to
actually get out there and do it!

we see many people who come abseiling very apprehensive before they go over the top, afterwards they cant wait to try it again and say its not as bad as it seems!

theres a great book by a lady called susan jeffers titled' feel the fear...'
we recommend it!

even our little racing dingy is called 'feel the fear!' the first time we took it out was on force 8! we swam lots!
