Iditarod 2003

we at learn2climb love the iditarod, as i write it is in its final stages for 2003, and our favourite musher ramy brooks from healy alaska is in a close 2nd behind robert sorlie, the 'frieght train' from norway.

whilst following this years race i checked in at a webcam in a small checkpoint on the yukon river. there are 2 nutters camped out there called the half way hooligans, 1. because they are mad, 2. because they are running the checkpoint and 3 because they are complete hooligans who love to have fun...

..anyway mike willman 1 of the hooligans decided to play a joke as the checkpoint was quiet and nothign much was going on...he put up a sign with an unusal request, which we at L2C answered...as you can see from the photo, when fellow hooligan glenn miller woke to take over the shift he carried it on and we got some rather unique advertising, i can now say we must be the only website to have an advert in the middle of nowhere in the alaskan interior and have had millions of race fans see it!

a big BIG thanks to the now famous half way hooligans of the iditarod trail sled dog race 2003... i present...
