Adventure Academy Kayaking Fun

our first adventure academy session kicked off this may with 5 mad fools from coventry and london coming to the wye valley for a 1 star kayak course, although a little up on normal levels the river was feeling frisky with a fast current,

after a morning of practasing strokes and moves all 5 hopped off for a quick lunch break at the pub before taking the plung with an exciting 15 foot slide off the bank into the river via the local canoe centres shute, and a quick recap of the mornings strokes and it was off for a little paddle down river.

the famous symonds yat rapids were at a good level so as the guys were keen to go and have a go at paddling down some bumpy water we headed off to the rapids.

3 runs each and some worried looking faces as boats bounced over waves and stoppers. no capsizes and alot of laughs.

all 5 passed the course whiched aims at teaching the first steps of kayaking using stroke and techniques to control your kayak.

3 of the famous 5 are back next week to take a river trip on the wye with us zand try their newly found techniques each.
