Severn Bore Fun For Matt And Martin
Last Updated on May 27, 2003
once again it was high tides and back to the severn for some surfing.
it was a good month lots of surfers and kayakers out on the river with a good set of tides and the promise of a clean wave.
i finally perfected my take off at a secret spot renown for its barreling wave, ive been trying for months to find that perfect spot on the river where i know the wave will break and throw out a big barrel , sooooppper fast but if i could just get inside then i would get an awesome ride.
one of L2C's kayak, surf and climbing friends and instructor, martin and i dropped down to a spot where we thought it would break, it was a gamble that paid off as the wave rounded the bend, began to build and as we paddled like crazy it pitched over my head and we were in. sadly martin didnt make it out the wave and got trashed, i got a barrel that was short but fun but had a fantastic face to play on after the barrel closed out.
martin and i dropped down to the same spot the following day and although not as big we both got a clean face to ride as the wave broke, till tommo took a flying leap from his board and rugby tackled me off the wave, which left martin on the wave.
roll on next month!
