Last Updated on February 16, 2004
only 2 weekends left and were off to scotland to run in the uk sleddog championships in dumfries.
we have been training hard all winter, as late we have missed a few of the absa race championship races to get ready for the scotland trip.
matt will travel up thursday to scotland ready for the dogs racing on friday night. he has been busy testing lights out (he's added a rally car spotlight to his rig) as the first race will be at night in the AE forest. at 3.2 miles its the shortest leg of the weekends race.
saturday starts with another race this time of 4.2 miles after which the dogs will be feed, checked over and rested ready for the final run on sunday. saturday night will be a mushers banquet where we can all talk dogs and eat food and discus whose going to win.
sunday will be the final days racing, again a 4.2 mile trail for our 3 dogs in the open class. prize giving in the afternoon followed by another meal before heading off on the monday morning back south...hopefully with happy dogs, happy matt and maybe a prize !!!
we'll keep you posted of how we get on!!!
if anyone is intrested in watching the race then it starts at the visitors centre at the Ae forest in dumfries on friday feb 27th. matt will be there from the evening of the 26th of feb. he's got a bunk room booked but might end up camping!!!
